IT Sector....

Friends,
I remember I once wrote that IT sector can be an out performer in next bull run. That is what we are seeing now.
Infosys is making newer highs. So is many IT stocks. The current first comes in biggies and then it goes down to Midcap and then in Small caps.
Nifty yesterday made a new high, 17 months high and created a record while none was ready to stick out the neck and say that Nifty can touch 5k.
The news that are coming from here, USA, that economy is bottoming out and less room for it go down where it was in last Sep 08, when the Lehman brs news broke, that has bygone.
But the confidence seen in IT sector is due to this news, that USA is bottomning out and that is good news for IT sector.I have posted article which was showing that Germany, France and other euoropian countries are getting over from the reccession.
I also wrote that Finance sector is a dark horse and that we are seeing as well.HDFC and likes are making newer highs.Keep a tab on IFCI and IDBI.
The Clean Energy stock will have a bull run next year due to US Prez Obama emphasizing on it more.Look out for those stocks.Guj Fluoro is a gem in A gr stock.
But my all time favourite in this sector has been Navin Flourine and I recomended again at below 100 here few months back.It is already over 250.Watch out for this counter.Lots of steam is still left in Navin.
Other stocks that comes to my mind and which I have recomended time and again here is Tanfac,Aluminuim Flouride etc.
Seems Apar Ind has started its upward journey.Keep a tab on Max India, Lumax Ind,Polyplex Corp.
I just came through a stock named Atlanta Ltd an Eng co .I remember when it got listed it went on to touch 1400 and it has come down to mere 120 now.Seems to me a very good pick.
UTV is also looking very good still and so is TRF which I recomended at 327 with Bonus and it is again 500 XB.Great co.
TRF was first recomended by me at ISG gr at 153.I remember I also recomended Symonds Marshall when I use to write at mmb.It has come out with great results and looking good now as well.
Well, these are my good calls.I have failed as well in many as well.Like Gujarat Carbon and likes. They faired miserably.Sometimes some stocks are such that they do not run in one bull run but moves fast in another run.In last bull run, cos like Hind Oil Explo(HOEC),Ind Swift Ltd,Ind Swift Lab, Surya Pharma, Jupiter Bio, Aptech Ltd didn't move as much they were supposed to move due to their fundamentals .Maybe this time they can outperform the sensex and the market too.We are already seeing HOEC making newer highs.Let us see what happens to the rest of them.

Update:
I take back my call on Atlanta Ltd.I completely overlooked the news on it by SEBI.
Please do not go for Atlanta Ltd.
I thanks Thinck tank for that.....

  1. Dear Rajeev Ji,
What is good in atlanta! I already had atlanta in my portfolio at avg buying rate of 550. should I buy more to average out. I remember that sebi had put a ban on this stock , when they are splitting it.And that time news is that Indiabulls is behind that big run & promoters credentials are also not good.

    Regards
    Rajeev

  4. K,
I think one never need to think on that.I only write any stock if they have potential to become a multibagger......anything over 2-3 times is a multibagger...

  7. K, remember to sell 50% as soon as they gets doubled.......That is one condition.....

  8. Hi Rajeev,
as per your recent posts, you said to sell 50% once the investment doubles. I have heard it so many times.(Yogesh Chhabria-Happionares way) but I am a vivid reader of WB as you know from previous posts. he never recommends something like that. I know we are very small retail investors but if we follow that strategy, also the gains through dividend reinvestments will be hampered.( As we are all LT investors, it matters) Thats my view. Need your opinion.

  11. Priya,
That is a risk one need to decide to take whether they wants to go for DEEP Ind or not.One can stay away from Deep Ind.
When we are talking of buying 100 shares and 200 shares, then I think it makes no difference.
The management criteria comes in only when we invest lacs and lacs of rupees.
Ofcourse , the decision is urs whether u wants to go with 10 baggers , which is also ur own prediction, or stay put!

  13. Hi Rajeev,
Need to know your view on Macmillan India recently renamed as MPS Ltd. I personally think Navneet is better stock than macmillan.
My broker strongly suggested it. But nowadays without your suugestion, i am not buying anything!
    Need your view.
Also throw some light on my previous post on 50% selling on doubling the value.

  15. Hi sanjay,
Regarding Flex foods. Its effective dividend date is today i.e. 24-9-9. May be its ex-dividend thats why its down by 8%.
    This is my guess.

  18. Dear Rajeev JI,
I want to put light on your old recommendation "Kirlosker Ferrous" which is also my favourite.I do have five hundred shares in my account on this they had given Rs 300 dividend. which is very good by any means.Today their is block deal in this counter.what do you think about this scrip.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Dear k,
Please don't ask me what to buy and what. That decision u all need to take by ur self.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Vikas,
WB may not recomending to sell 50% when stocks get double.
But that doesn't mean he must be not doing that.
In the intial years ,he may have done the same ,not to make a loss in stock market.
I think this is the best strategy for anyone in stock market. One will never repent and have a very sound sleep.Stocks prices world over never go up vertically , though they fell vertically and hence always give chance to buy on declines.
And above that, what is wrong in taking the money out.Taking money out is the only way your investment becomes ZERO....Keep on taking money out and one day your investment will become ZERO.Put that money in bank ot buy GOLD from that money....

  21. Dear Thnick tank,
Kir Fer and Kir Elec are great stocks to hold on.Kir Elec has already doubled from my call which I gave around 43 and Kir Ferro has still to run.
    Great gr and great management.
The key here in Kir Ferro is that foundries in European countries has been closed and hence Kir tends to benifit in big way from it aalong with my very old call Ennore Foundries.

  24. Dear K,
If u ask me for a perticular stock then I can give my opinion but when u assk me to compare which is better to buy , that I can't say.
    That becomes too individual......

  27. Hi Rajeev,
Thanks for clearing my doubt. As WB says never loose your money. its true that we can definitely get the capital back, once the stock doubles.
I will strictly follow that from now onwards.
Also what you feel about-DIVIDEND RE-INVESTMENT.
Is it really that much worth as its acclaimed?
Because we can buy so less quantity of stocks from dividends.
    Need your viewpoint on that.
    Thanks.

Also writing my favorite quote which exactly suits you
TO GIVE ANYTHING LESS THAN YOUR BEST IS TO SACRIFICE THE GIFT.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Vikas,
Div is a peanuts for small holding. If the holding is small one cannot buy anything from that.
Use in buying good cloths or foodgrains or vege oils that one need in running the house.
In old days people use to buy groceries from Div income and it is for that as well.
The Div reinvestment is more regarding to MF's investment.People use to reinvest the Div buying more units of MF's and that was also perticularly more acceptable with UTI securites where people will buy more units as UTI declares div every year.

  29. Dear Rajeev,
The govt is alert now a days , they keep on raiding companies like , Austral , HDIL and now Tulip. .From april 2010 govt has to impose GST & from April 2011 they have to adopt IFRS.Is this means creating black money for promoters become difficult.
I heard the news on Austral that they evaded tax on ficitious purchases of 1000cr.Austral promoters declare that they had mining rights in mozombie for the area which is 8 times the mumbai city . what is that means. I need your views

  36. Hi Rajeev,
    do you track DISH TV.
Again my broker strongly recommended. I studied the financials which look absolutely pathetic. But considering it is developing a business, which will earn significant profits in the next few years. Does it has a potential to become multi-bagger.
Also one thing which worries me is the tough competition.
    Need your opinion.

  42. Hi,
went through vintage vineters which is hitting upper circuits of 10%.
Company financials are ok (not great)
But my worry is that none of their products have any monopoly in respective business.
Also the MMB on moneycontrol raised my concerns.
I know its risky bet but do you think it can become multi-bagger in future.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And also about Indage vineters came across this article from other blog
    http://foodbizdaily.com/articles/90920-indage-vinters-faces-financial-crisis-in-india.aspx

    Please check it out.
With regards and waiting for reply.

  44. Vikas ,u didn't see these annoucement on the same website.
They may be having problem but market has already discounted that and is bullish on new annoucement of gathering money through placement.

Exporting to 69 countries is no small an achievement. It means that they have got the product which is good to export.....great story..coming up...

Market discount future and not the present....remember always these thing....
